A Memorial Tribute

Memorial Day Tribute
To the soldiers new and old and beyond... This was written for you and yours.

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

In a field the flag's shadow grows,
so tall and proudly it shows.
Below that flag sit nice little rows,
of little shiny white cross all given a simple rose.

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

Torn and battered that flag waves on,
because of the lives it rests upon.
It's a symbol to the world,
that there is something worth fighting for in this small little world.

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

Though the people of this flag have forgotten,
the price that this country and flag begotten.
Though the people complain and tear down that symbol,
because they have forgotten the price, the loyalty, the love of such a great nation.

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

A soldier walks down the street
no warm welcome did he meet.
His eyes are watery and his boots are ragged,
who will welcome this hero home and help carry his baggage?

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

A parade marches on the road,
but there is none who stand when that flag of Old Glory comes round.
An old man, unable to walk,
silences the talk,
As he alone stands as others look on shocked.

A flag waves in the breeze,
so tall it stands, so proudly it waves.
A flag waves in the breeze,
with the beautiful colors red, white and blue.

A soldier...
A brother...
A father...
A mother...
A sister...
A friend...

When they see that flag wave,
they have no fear,
for when Old Glory waves,
They stand tall!
